ABOUT

Kiggundu Art Studio is an independent Art Studio in Ndejje Kanyanya in Wakiso Uganda where different early stage, emerging and established creatives from the surrounding community and beyond meet for creative expression, Research, experimentation and Community engagement. A Space we celebrate Artistry, Foster Community and Explore Contemporary Art.

  OBJECTIVES 

  • To enhance Diverse Skill Levels : Tailor Courses, Workshops and Masterclasses to accommodate various skill levels, ensuring both beginners and recent art undergraduates enhance their artistic abilities through the value of our programs.

  • To enhance Community Building : Foster a supportive community that encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange between beginners and well established creatives.

  • To enhance wholistic learning: Design programs that cover foundational skills for beginners and advanced techniques for recent  graduates seeking career advancement

  • To foster Mentorship and Support : Establish Apprenticeship activities connecting seasoned artists with those starting their artistic endeavours through guidance, inspiration, professional portfolio refining and development.

  • To encourage equitable Resource Accessibility : Provide accessible resources such as online tutorials, masterclasses and toolkits to beginners to help kickstart their creative journeys

  • To Provide Networking Experiences : Host events, workshops and networking activities that bring together different groups of people to collaborate and 

  • To celebrate Diversity and Inclusion : Embrace diverse artistic styles and backgrounds to create an inclusive atmosphere that resonates with the diverse creative ideas.

    An Annual Apprentices Exhibition series that will feature some of their experiments and artworks explored by the apprentices through the course of the year. The first edition will be happening on January 25th 2025 featuring artists Kabeya Ilunga, Edwin Ntare and Ruberanziza Oswald. Stay Tuned.
